Healthy Eating and Exercise

I weighed myself on Friday!!! I was digusted with myself. So am back on plan 100%. Am now on to day 3 and doing well so far. I'm following Slimming World again as it helped me loose 3 and a half stone 3 years ago. So I know how it works and how to follow it properly plus a lot of foods are unlimited which is what I need lol.

My exercise yesterday was this:

20 minute walk to ballet school.
20 minute walk to David Lloyd from home (was brisk as had to chase the kids on their bikes.) swan 10 lengths,
then walked 4 lengths with kids.
Walked brisk walk 20 minutes home

Ill

I have been ill this week. I wasn't feeling well yesterday when I woke up. Sore head strange feeling in nose and really needing to just sleep. Unfortunately, trying to sleep didn't work out as the heating was on but I hadn't actually switched it on. I managed to get dh to look late last night and it turned out the valve had jammed and the heating was on regardless. Turning off all the radiators and turning down the thermostat didn't help and then the radiator in the dining room leaked which didn't help matters.

I managed to declutter a lot of the kitchen. But broke the toaster. It was a bit of a relief that I bought a new tesco value one today. The children we so excited that they will have toaster toast instead of grilling the toast. I did get annoyed in tesco. My shopping was £14.30 and I gave the guy £15.50, but he deliberately gave me 2 50p's and a 20p. I told him I need a £1 coin. Numpty! He was so arrogant. It made me regret no longer working there as I would have said something to him about it then.

Chill out time here now. Dh is on one recliner and I am on the other. I just need some time to get over whatever is hanging on me as I feel so rubbish. At least everyone else is well for once.

Happy Birthday to my good friend Caroline. I'm hoping her dh had a surprise for her and didn't just leave her sat at home with the 3 kids this evening like he told her this morning.

Monday Holiday

It's the spring Holiday in Edinburgh today. It doesn't look anything like spring outside though. It's cold and dull. Yesterday was a lovely day and I am relieved I got 4 loads of washing done. I wish spring would hurry up as it's making me continue to feel down with the horrible weather.

We've had a lazy morning and are planning on meeting dh at Ikea at lunchtime which will be great. We can have lunch there.

The roads seem pretty quiet. We have a main road up the embankment from our house and there is very little traffic going up the top.

The kids are loving chilling on the wii. I've managed to book our activities for Centre Parcs. So will go and laze in a bath as we have 90 minutes before we have to go out.

Tired

I should really be in bed. I wakened early this morning. Got up showered and took E to ballet. Got her dance show DVD. Then we went for lunch and to the cinema. We saw the Spiderwick Chronicles. Everyone's comments have been that it was good. It was scary. Then we did a bit of window shopping and went swimming. It was nice to do that.

Tomorrow we start the overhal of decluttering this house starting with the kitchen. Wish me luck.

My Week so Far

On Monday my new sofa's arrived at 9.15am. By 9.30 the guys had gone but the skip still hadn't arrived for the 3 sofa's we were getting rid off. We had loads of other things to get rid off too. So was most put out. Luckily it arrived. Dh and his dad filled it up and off we went to my gran's with the 3rd sofa a 2 seater we didn't have room for. We removed my gran's horrible low sofa to the garden and tried out the new one. She really didn't know what to do about it but my mum says she's getting used to it and liking it now.

Then dh came home and my mum and I took my nieces to Dunfermline for a trip to Primark. I saw some gorgeous cushions and regret not getting them for the sofa. Will just have to go back. We then went for lunch in a lovely cafe nearby. We had the delights of Ashleigh's egg roll being spurted everywhere when she bit into it. Ashleigh yelling about Nun's when some came into the shop. Finally Ashleigh danced and sang along the high street.

That night, Eilidh announced a fringe had just appeared in her hair!!! After about 2 hours she agreed she'd cut it herself. I was on my own in my corner as Dh believed she'd been bullied at school and someone had cut it (not her story but what he got into his head).

On Tuesday I working in the morning and had a lazy afternoon but managed to get a hair appointment for Eilidh with another hairdresser in the salon as mine was fully booked. Then we had a palava with her brownie uniform bottoms. Once again they have disappeared. Still haven't found them.

Yesterday was working again all day and then had to race to get Eilidh and get to the hairdresser but due to the fatal crash on the M8 and then another crash on the Gogar Roundabout the traffic was gridlocked. While I was working yesterday I was in the garden while the children were outside and I have completely hurt my knee. So on total rest today.

Finally got to bed last night but not before a hectic week. Hopefully we can have a quiet weekend.

Holiday

We've booked a short beak for 5 weeks time. We're off to centre parcs at Whinfell in Penrith. We're staying in one the of new style woodland lodges. We've always had a big lodge but it's just a 2 bedroomed one this time. Our friends are going too which will be fun.

First Week Back Nearly over

It's Thursday. Am looking forward to the weekend lol. I am shattered getting up every morning for the school run. I think we probably need a holiday. Dh is recovering well from his op. Today he drove himself to work amd did work himself. The bruising is subsiding too.

I had a day off today. Worked for the morning yesterday and then picked up the car. It passed it's MOT. The nursery is quite close to the garage but parking is bad as they are building a new high school (why they need to is beyond me) and so it cost me £40 for parking yesterday lol.

Today I looked after my friends dd. She's called Eilidh. She stuck her tongue out at the guy in Boots. He found it funny. I was mortified as neither of mine would do that. Went to the disney shop and her mum had given her money so she chose this lawm mower thing. Morrisons for my food shop. Then along to the smoothie bar. We tried to do soft play but it was closed grrr. So we came back and played my little ponies. I forgot how much input 3 year olds need. I am so glad I am not going backwards lol.

I fell asleep after lunch and found dh downstairs tidying when I got up. Our new Sofa's arrive next week whoooooo. We're only keeping the 3 seater and the chair and my gran is getting the 2 seater. Ideal as it cost £800 for the 3 in the sale but double that just for the chair and sofa.

After dinner tonight we went to Luca's for an ice cream. Kids loved it and it was great fun.

Kids finish at 12.25pm tomorrow. Will be back at enjoy a ball tomorrow for Murray too. I've just forked out £200 for dance classes and french classes. I reckon it will be about another £50 for enjoy a ball. That's us skint till the end of the month now.

Here's to nice chilling weekend. Oh I forgot it won't be as the kids have a fab social life!!!

Work

I usually find round about after Easter supply work dries up due to everyone being well. But this year I've had non stop phone calls. Nurseries are phoning me and so are the office. The HR dept for education has gone electronic so someone totally new has taken over and instead of being about 8 different people it's the same one who has been phoning with the odd change. That's just great for me as it means continuity.

So I am off to work this morning. Am quite excited as it's just this morning and dh is driving me in. Will get the bus home if the car isn't ready as it's MOT day. Plan to chill out as I've been wakened since about 4.15am with various planes, trains and automobiles being very loud outside.

The Gruesom Twosome seem to be enjoying being back at school. Eilidh's reading group has been changed at school and she is very happy. She's reading the Otter who wanted to Know. Murray has the book which starts off the magic key adventures. So am excited about him reading those.

Back to School

Our 2 went back to school today. I found having dh at home to be a pain as he just got in the way. I did collect Ruby before walking the children to school and rushing home. A nursery phoned and booked me for Wednesday. Apparently the office is still over the shot with their new HR online system.

Took Rubs to the vet and she is on the mend. So she's home and in the hutch outside again.

Then D and i went up to Dunfermline and shopped in Primark. Dunfermline has a fab High Street. It's an old fashioned type one and I just love it. What I don't love is that Dunfermline if FULL OF ROUNDABOUTS. Every where you go could be a straight road apart from these roundabouts.

We headed off to Nando's in the Leisure Park for lunch. Forgot the Fife schools are still on holiday but Nando's was quiet and the meal was lovely. There are so many places to eat there. It was great.

We got home with an hour to spare for collecting the gruesome twosome. So now it's time to make lunches for tomrorow as homework is done and then dinner for tonight. Still full after lunch lol.

It's snowing

The snow has started here in Edinburgh. D is recovering slowly from his op. He had some discomfort yesterday. I went to my friend's candle party and then to Ratho Park for dinner. Ratho used to be a brewers Fayre but is now a Carvery for £3.50 and very cheap and pleasant it is too. Then we just had a chill out at home. Today we plan to go to Livingston for some things.

Ruby has been sent to Granny's. She was given penicillian that I am allergic too. So not allowed to touch her. We're back at the Vet's tomorrow to see how she is as the bleeding hasn't stoppped yet.

Otherwise another quiet day in the Carlisle house. The children are back to school tomorrow.

Will be so glad to get some peace again lol.

Friday

D's op went well. He's swollen and bruised but not in pain. He met someone he knew in the waiting room so I think it helped. He's off until Tuesday.

Just about to take Ruby to the Vets. Am very scared and worried.

Ruby's Ill

Our Rabbit Ruby has started bleeding which isn't a good thing but we can't get to the vet until tomorrow. Dh is off to have his vasectomy in a short while, so I'm turning in to Nurse Louise. I do not think so lol.

Wednesday Already

After a very busy weekend, we're now on to Wednesday. E and M went to the Science Centre again on Friday with G&G Carlisle. They seemed to have a good day. On Saturday we went to the Edinburgh Science Festival. Bumped into a few people we know and went with the 5 C's. The boys hit Dig up a dinosaur while the girls unwrapped a mummy and us real mummies had a stop in the cafe. Then the girls did Mission Improbable all about the body and the boys went into the playcentre, where they had to build a wall and walk across it, listen to stories, draw pictures and play with Gluk and Sand. It was a quick lunch before we raced to the ER room where E and C operated on a person, learned CPR and other medical things while we went to the crafty area with the boys. We left the science festival and went swimming. The water was cold and it was very busy after being quite quiet. Out we went to get changed and showered and we had dinner. It was a long busy day and we were all shattered but it was a great day.

Sunday was a short day as British Summer Time began with us loosing our hour in bed. Murray went to a party in the afternoon and then we had a quick dinner before heading out on the bikes as it was sunny for once. It was a nice cycle out and Eilidh got to grips with her bike which she had only had one shot on since she got it in January due to the weather.

Monday was a day in town to get Brownie stuff and yesterday was a lazyish day with lunch at Klondyke. The children stayed the night at G&G's as we went to the theatre to see the rise and fall of Little Voice which was really good. But we didn't get home until about 11pm so just as well the kids were staying over night rather than a babysitter here. The weather on Monday was lovely but yesterday was rain rain rain. Maybe it was an April Fools.

E played a joke on me by telling me grandad had shared her email password with her. Turned out he hadn't. The scottish news tried to tell us that a new tanning salon could do your tan over the internet and the sun told us that Glasgow Airport was being renamed John Smeaton Airport. Pizza Hut offered a cleaning service while you eat your pizza for £5. Wonder what other April fools were out there.

The children are off to Gran's this morning and David is out tonight and then off tomorrow before his surgery tomorrow night. Then I become Nurse Louise. I can't see it happening personally.
