Only a Few Days Left of 2006

Gosh it doesn't seem that long since 2006 joined us. We're now looking at 2007 which will be a big year for us. Eilidh is 7 in a few weeks time. How did I end up with a 7 year old daughter. She can be so loving but also such hard work. Wouldn't be without her though.

Murray Starts school this year too. My baby is so small, he can't be ready for school. But he is growing up so fast. He already knows how to spell his name and his sister, can type freely and spell on the computer and the writing well, he takes after Grandad Carlisle.

Keep wondering whether or not we should add to our brood or accept that we are a complete family. I just don't know where we stand on it all. I'm sure what is meant to be will be though.

I currently have a brain of a 50 year old. I got the brain training game for Eilidh's ds and David has a brain of a 35 year old. Not bad for a 37 year old though.

David had the day off today. Took my mum to Ikea. She wanted to buy a table but obviously doesn't discuss things with my dad leaving me in the awkward position of my dad asking why I was carrying a table. Got 2 cool spinning things for the table for meal times. Will make life easier lol. Came home and David has obviously started to realise why I find being at home so hard. Apparently our 2 wee darlings had fought all morning. We hit tesco which had a few screaming matches with Mr Muzz. Came home. I lay in the bath for all of 10 minutes before 2 wee darlings decided they would chat to me, so I got out and shut myself in the room and slept for 2 hours.

Anyway it's getting late and I hadn't realised so best get on with warty on E's finger treatment.

OH I've just realised in 2007 I'm gonna be 30!!!! That means I'll be an OAP in my children's terms. Time for a big party me thinks. Who's free the 15th December 2007?

Post Christmas

We had a lovely Christmas. Quiet but nice. We had a calm relaxing boxing day.

Yesterday Petra and I took the Carlisle Kids to the Winter Wonderland. We got the train into town and had a really nice time. It was cold. Then Eilidh and Lewis had a bungee jump after we'd been on the shows and the carousel.

Eilidh and Murray on the cars. Murray liked the cars and the balloons but wasn't keen on much else.

Lewis on the cars

Logan on the cars

Them all on the balloons. We could hear shouts of "Logan's Crying!" but it turned out he was laughing.

Tonight we're off to our Friend's Liz and Frank's for dinner. Looking forward to someone else cooking for a change. Looking forward to sticking my feet up for a wee while. Think David is off work tomorrow, so may get some peace to go shopping. Eilidh has to go to the doctors today as she has a minging finger. Hopefully the doctor can do something there and then and not require a hospital visit again.

It's Christmas Eve

Christmas for me is about the birth of Jesus. Was thinking the other day about how many religions still don't believe that Christ has come, like dh's family. They apparently don't celebrate christmas....so why do they exchange unwrapped presents and have a meal of turkey then watch all the Christmas shows on the tv?? We seem to have lost our nativity scene this year too. Now that Murray is older, I think we probably could buy a more grown up one that he won't break.

We had a lovely day yesterday with Caroline and Chris and the 3 C's. Cole is such a lovely baby. Doesn't make me broody but he's at a lovely age where he is starting to interact and it's so nice to be able to give one of Car's children attention as before I always had a baby of my own to worry about. We went on the Santa Cruise at Ratho and it was so nice to chill and relax. Then they made us dinner.

I keep looking at Murray and thinking WOW you are 4 now. He's such a wee fantastic guy. I feel incredibly guilty for all that I felt when he was a baby. He's such a lovely singer. He sang away in a manger the other night and my eyes were welling. Unfortunately his sister isn't as tuneful.

We decided this year not to buy so much for the kids present wise. I remember why. Santa hasn't actually been yet, but you cannot move for presents under the tree. It's because they get so much from everyone else. They don't actually need anything from us.

I've just been disturbed and have no recollection of what I was going to say. So obviously it was a lie. They are currently drawing pictures of the Snowman. They are both really taken with him. Murray's is so clear. It's amazing how good his pencil control is compared to Eilidh's at the same age.

Suppose we'd best get dressed and sorted.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and lots of love from us Carlisle's

Oh What a Day and Birthday's

It was one of those days. I'm on holiday from work and too busy reading a book I got for my birthday that I fell down the stairs. My baby girl was very sympathetic. My son!!!! He laughed. Anyway manage to get them to the childminder and make it home. Sore foot. Try to get in touch with David who has conventiently left his mobile at home. End up shopping in M&S and the sales Assistant over charges me by over £5. So not impressed as she lived 2 doors away from us when we lived at Gogarloch. Make it home again and have a mad idea to bake biscuits. I baked 34 and iced 29 of them for E's class at school. Then Elaine asks me to bake for the Italian Market at school. So I do. Now have loads of biscuits to deliver to Elaine tomorrow morning.

It was my dad's birthday too. My mum got him busty boobs birthday cake. Murray didn't get it but I can imagine what E will say at school tomorrow. Mrs N must think we're barking this end.

Had a great birthday. We went to see the snowman ballet. Then Pizza Express for dinner. Got a long lie until 9am too. So much for a lazy morning etc. Missed out on my long soak. Hope to get it tomorrow. We'll see.

Anyway not many more sleeps. 6 now is it?

Want a Laugh

Today I was at work and this morning we went to a puppet show in the nursery. This afternoon the 12 full time children were having play and making mince pies. I was at the dough table and was wedged on one of those wee seats that you get. ONe of the children asked me to do something and I later found out, if you have pockets on your trousers don't sit too far back as they get caught and that's what happened but the chair worked loose and went flying one way while I went the other. Irene the learning assistant and Angela the teacher were horrified and so were the kids who all stood opened mouth at me while I sat on the floor killing myself laughing. I still keep laughing about it. But the poor staff and children's faces at Mrs Wumman sprawled on the floor

WHY CAN'T I STOP????

I cannot stop shopping. E and M have more than enough but no I have to buy them more. Got E a nintendo ds for CHristmas and I keep picking up bargain games. Dh is killing himself laughing at me as I swear I am finished and really I'm not. I have done his birthday and Christmas. Just need to remember to pick up paper to wrap up his birthday things. Still desperately hunting Car's Vsmile game. Cannot get one here for love nor money and it's the one thing he has asked Santa for.

Busy month however. D has his birthday on the 11th and he is off. M is going to the childminder after nursery. So boozy lunch for adults only coming up. My birthday is the 17th and we're off to the snowman. Then all the parties etc in between. Roll on January for a quiet month.

Oh have applied for a more permanent job. Fingers crossed for me as I am so nervous about the change.
