First 2 days

The first 2 days have passed quickly so far. Yesterday we headed out to Vogrie Park only to discover it was so busy that we headed to Dobbie's. After a good wander about, we had a cake in their new cafe. Their toilets are now like the Newcastle's Dobbie's. We bought a ball for Ruby as we were planning on moving her back outside when I realised a snow storm had started. We headed home and as soon as we got on the bypass, the snow stopped and the sun came out. Got home and sorted out the Rubster.

Ended up having a bit of a late night so wasn't impressed when Muzz woke me at 6.49am. It's the holidays, I want a long lie.

So once we were ready we got the bus to the zoo where we had a good time. But it was cold and it started to snow again!!! But you can find pictures on E and M's blog.

We came home for lunch as it was so cold and went to the Gyle and spent their easter money and some of their book tokens. I'm glad we got home and both children's rooms have been gutted and sorted out whooooooooo. I even got the hoover out.

Tomorrow we're off to the museums in the old town of Edinburgh and then Peter and the Wolf show. So will probably be tired tomorrow.

Easter

It is Easter Sunday and it's been a quiet day. Easter Bunny visited and left a high school musical game for the wii. Although both children were miffed at the Easter Bunny having hold of their webkinz. We had a visit to my mum and dad's for a lamb dinner. Then coming home as my back is in pain again, and David taking the kids round his family members. Now it's time for me and him to chill out once we get them to bed. Am looking forward to chilling out now. Plan to do an EasterEgg hunt tomorrow in the garden and roll eggs I think. A day late but never mind.

Cinema

We decided another very last minute thing on Thursday night that The Game Plan was on at 5.15pm so we'd go and see it. We got the kids some popcorn, chocolate and juice and we got maltesers and a diet coke. The film was brilliant. A good mixture for everyone about a man who discovers he has a daughter and how she changes his life. Then we went to Pizza Hut for dinner at 7.30pm. Kids found it tiring so we ate pizza and took puddings home. Yesterday for Good Friday I took the kids to Horton Hears a Who. I wasn't too in to The Cat in The Hat and although I've come to love the Doctor Seuss Books I don't love the films. I liked the ending but it was a film where I got bored. I want to see the Spiderwick Chronicles but seems I am outvoted.

Trip to Glasgow Science Centre

I decided we had to do something today so after no discussion we decided to head through to Glasgow to their science centre. Sat Nav got us there quite easily. There was loads to do and they had a lot going on. So much so that we need to go back as we didn't have enough time to do everything.

After being there we left about 4pm, and popped into the Glasgow Fort where we found Hobby Craft. I could have been there for years. Dinner was at Nando's. It was the place to be. It was so busy but dinner was lovely. We don't have one in Edinburgh so it's a big thing for us to go to Nando's as we have to travel but it was a nice change. It was a great day and we will be going back sometime. But now it's time to chill.

It's Almost Holiday Time

From 3.15pm this afternoon I will have my children at home with me for 15 full days. Will we survive? So far we have an action packed fortnight ahead. In fact I've arranged a hair appointment for next Friday so I can have a chill out and get a much needed hair cut. I'm looking forward to spending some good times with my children. Now they are at school, I feel like time runs away with no catch up, so I like holidays as they end up so busy now.

It's been a busy week. Monday I went out for lunch and came home and some numpty had dug up the access path to our driveway. Tuesday they blocked it while I was at work and couldn't get in. Wednesday 7.50am they asked if they could shut off the gas for 5 minutes!!! 30 mins later before I could go to work. Work was busy this week. Nice and handy too but nice to have some money behind me for next month.

Otherwise really nothing happening in Weasieville just now but am sure will have loads to update come next week.

Tired

We're all tired this morning. So much so that Eilidh is still sound asleep and I'm leaving her as late as possible. Murray wasn't up between 5 and 6am which was a bonus and I am so glad I have the day off. I am so tired this morning I just wanted to sleep but monkey features woke Murray up and he came and cuddled me awake.

So here's to a restful day.

The dance show pictures and how she has grown

Eilidh started ballet at age 3. When she had been there are year she did her first show. Because of the amount of work and effort that goes into the shows the Dance School only offer them every 2 years. So the first year she was a Sunflower at age 4 in Mary Mary Quite Contrary. The second year at age 6 she was a clockwork doll. Then this year at age 8 she was a Prancing Pony. She also partook in the Flamenco Dance too which was great to watch as well.

Looking back over the pictures I can't quite believe how she has grown up. She'll always be my baby.

No Well.... and Brownie Bingo

I reckon my friend gail, who's lurgy has left her house has reached me. I feel so poorly with sore head, feeling a bit pukey and so cold even though I was wrapped in a duvet and had the heating on full blast.

I blame dh it's all his fault. He brought a cold in which he and E seem to have fought off easily.

Anyway on Tuesday, Eilidh's brownies were having a bingo night for charity. Although I'm not sure which charity it was for. We got 6 cards on a page and played box number 1 for a line in which the winner won a cream egg. Then 2 lines for another cream egg. Then full house for an easter egg.

We were on the 3rd game for a full house with Eilidh moaning "I've got no numbers!" Only had 3 more numbers to get when Eilidh suddenly jumped up and yelled BINGO. Considering she had no numbers she suddenly got them all for a bingo and a Caramel Easter Egg. She was delighted and it set up the competition at our table for one of the others to get an egg. Which Gemma did get after being determined her mum would win.

Anyway 2 more days to the big dance show and I am nervous. I can't wait to see how Eilidh has progressed and I am so proud of how she has come on since she she broke her heel. Will post some piccies at the weekend.
