Thursday's Happy Moment

Been a nice day today. We went to my friends for lunch. She's Eilidh's Godmother but even though we email every day it's the first time we've really caught up. It was a lovely day which passed by too quickly. The kids were delighted to see her kids. Dh surprised me with a takeaway and a balloon for Valentines Day which was nice. Am breaking my rule and having a glass of wine. It's been nice. Here's to the good moments continuing.

Wednesday's Happy Moment

I'm trying to share the happy moment about just now. I hope some of the people I challenged will take up the challenge to share a little happiness around.
Today My inlaws came and took the children away. Yesterday evening had become fraught so a day away sounded good. Off they went happily to the cinema to see Underdog. Meanwhile I had peace and quiet and D's laptop. His phone wasn't working so it was even more peaceful. I surfed the net for our London Holiday in October and chilled. It was nice not to think of anyone else and nice just to have silence. When you live in my house there is rarely silence. It's like a nursery. I love to be the first member of staff in so I can reflect in the silence knowing that within an hour the hustle and bustle will be happening. Tomorrow I am back to normal but hey thanks for the peace today.

Tuesday's Happy moment

Tuesday was a nice day. I got up at 6.50am to discover David away to work and Eilidh was downstiars and was fully dressed waiting on breakfast. Murray appearered a short time later. We had a chilled out morning watching Cat in the Hat and went off to have lunch with Granny B then popped into her work. Then popped into drop stuff off to my friend. It was a lovely time together. Then we came home and it all unravelled but we'll stick with the nice time we had.

Ponderings

I want to know what's happening with the weather. On SUnday we woke up to fantastic sunshine and it was a lovely mild day. So much nicer than the horrible cold and wet weather we saw for most of January. On Sunday it seemed to be another great day so we moved Ruby out of the garage and really cleaned her hutch out and had her racing round the run for some decent exercise. Was most disgruntled when about 3pm the fog started to come down. Yesterday was a cold miserable misty day again and we met up with family who took us a hike round their park. Was glad to get home and then last night freezing fog. This morning is another gorgeous sunny/mild day yet our car is frozen solid.

Just been reading on some forums about Valentines Day. D and I have bittersweet memories of our first Valentines Day. He got food poisoning. We rarely acknowledhe it now as it's not a special day for us. We much prefer our anniversaries. 7th March when we first met, 11 may our engagement, 17th October our wedidng day. It's 11 years in March since I met David and 10 years in October since we got married. Our love has deepened in a lot of ways and we did go through some rough patches but we've always got through them. We've been blessed with 2 children who can be the bane of our lives while also enriching our lives so much with so much love and affection. They have their own quirky ways and I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to be a mum and meet what I hope will be 2 lovely children when they are older.

Now I've been working with lots of Polish Children recently. Why does Oliver be Oliwer? Why is Wictoria instead of Victoria and Kacper instead of Casper??? I really would like to know the reason behind having odd spellings of names compared to just normal spellings. Some gorgeous kids from Poland though.

Happy Moment for Monday

Monday's happy moment was coming home and being relieved that the latest visit is over. Here's to a great holiday week now I am relaxed again.

Happy Moments from Last Week

I ended up a bit busy last week and hurt my back so not had a chance to update this but this was my happy moments from last week.

Tuesday - Was a bit of a sad day but Eilidh managed to find her top for brownies making it just her trousers that are still missing.
Wednesday - was my last day at work for the nursery. They got one of the children to make me a card and she promptly told me. Was miffed at my lack of response and stomped off to moan to the member of staff who had asked her to make it. Very funny but the card made me feel aprreciated.
Thursday - Was happy just because I finally got a rest.
Friday - Was seeing how much my gran has improved since her bad fall. She really has come a long way but still has a long way to go.
Saturday was nice just chilling as the 4 of us and my favourite part was domino's for tea.
Sunday was seeing my mum and dad after their trip to London.

It's the school holidays now so will there be many happy moments? Who knows but keep reading and we may have ups and downs and good times too.

Monday's Happy Moment

Monday's Happy Moment had to be so silly. I made tonight's dinner last night. I was inspirationlised by work who made meatballs for the children so I made some with garlic, herbs and onion and extra lean minced beef. They are in the fridge to go in the oven when I get home and then have with spaghetti and a tomato sauce. Also the fact that I may get my Monday's back as from next week sounds divine to me as I am so exhausted this morning. Here's to some happy moments today too.

Sunday's Happy Moment

I have to be honest. I don't think I had a happy moment for Sunday. The whole day seemed to go nicely. We just spent time as a family before heading off to my mum's for Sunday dinner which was nice. I did buy a watch for work. Nothing special but a nice wee simple one for when I am at work and can't see a clock. It was nice to chill for once and not feel like we were clock watching.

I've been a grump

I woke up with a certain little boy in between us this morning. It's something which wakes me up in a bad mood, so it wasn't a great start to my day.

Managed to get Eilidh to ballet and flamenco this morning well in time. Then went to cafe nero. Now working with children as my job does mean I don't always want to be surrounded by other children so wasn't best pleased to arrive and find a male customer videoing 2 boys walloping my son. So after standing directly in his way of the boys he stopped filming but him and the other male allowed these 2 boys to run wild round the coffee shop. There is a time and a place for children to run about and I do feel in a coffee shop there are too many dangers and that is what soft plays are for. So my happiness was overjoyed when along came mother who discovered the boys running wild and having spilled orange juice everywhere. Yet still no one told the boys to sit down due to the dangers. One day those parents will learn the hard way.

Went back to pick Eilidh up and one mother's attitude to Murray daring to need the toilet and get their before her daughter had me off in another rant. The child moments before had been running wild around. I told her to stop being so pathetic. Felt so much better after that wee rant to her.

We shopped in the disney shop today. Murray got a golf set. But never mind he's only hit Eilidh about 3 times. Eilidh got her high school musical outfit for the show.

So will tomorrow be a better day? If someone tells Murray to be quiet we may well have success hehehe.

Saturday's Happy Moment

Bit of a ridiculous one this but we went to the shopping centre for lunch today. Normally I let the children have a junk food lunch but they had decided before we got there that they would have sandwiches. Murray started grumping for a BK but I said no and he did grump but when we got lunch he ate all his turkey and cucumber sandwiches and Eilidh ate all her cheese and cucumber ones. I was very impressed with how well they ate lunch and the fact they then ate their fruit provided with lunch. So it goes to show they will eat what they are given sometimes. But was pleased we managed to steer away from the junk food for once.
