Sometimes I wonder who the children are in our house. I woke up at 1.43am on Christmas Morning to which a grunt from the otherside of the bed told me it was 1.43am. I awoke at 6.13am and screeched "The rolls? Did you take them out of the freezer?" at the grunty one. Turns out the one job I'd given him he couldn't manage. Anyway he got the rolls out and finally the children got up. Turns out Grunty was awake most of the night waiting for morning.
We sent Eilidh downstairs and you could hear the shrieks of delight that Santa had been. So off we headed. They opened their santa presents. Not too many presents but they had 10 sets of presents under the tree from other people and the piles just got bigger and bigger. I got some more things for my wii and my lush box too.
At 10am Granny and Grandad C arrived bearing more gifts. They had brunch of sliced Sausage rolls and Bacon rolls. We played a game of Tamgotchi party on the wii. Then it was time to go to Granny and Grandad B's.
It was the first time since I left home 10 years ago that I had Christmas at my mum and dad's house. It was strange as the last few years we've mainly been at home all day and before that my dad was ill for a good couple of years too. My mum had arranged a caterer to do dinner for 8, so we had roast beef and turkey which was very nice. The roasties were gorgeous. It was nice just to chill and David and I did the dishes much to my mum's annoyment. We stayed over but the sofa bed is really uncomfy while the kids had the comfy beds in the spare room.
6.15am I was wideawake and was offski to the next sale with my mum. Spent £96 on the kids. Then back to my mums for hot rolls before heading home. I spent boxing day in bed with a dose of sinusitis which is now on the mend.
The children are less hyper now and looking forward to some friends parties in the next few days along with Eilidh loving the fact she will soon be 8. So just new year to go. Then back to normalilty come the 7th of January.
