Yellow Submarine

If I never hear Yellow Submarine sung again, then it will be too soon.

Yesterday after school, we went to get the new specs. Then we went to the cinema to see Prince Caspian. It was a good film, although Murray got restless. Then we went to the Peach Garden for a chinese. Getting home at 8.25pm, we put the Gruesome Twosome straight to bed. But at 11.30pm, Murray was lying singing Yellow Submarine at the top of his voice. He'd been singing for 2 hours!!!! So we became very tough, lights off and severe telling off. At one point, he started banging on the wall between our rooms as well. Telling my friend today she reckons he was banging to get out of his submarine.

At 12pm our school holiday's started. We have 7 and a half weeks this year. Will be interesting to see how long my sanity lasts. We're not away for another 4 weeks and 6 days. Weather forecast for July is to be rubbish. How typical. I'd rather have a wet June.

Family BBQ at my mum's work and a lazy weekend. Am very excited.

Just realised I have reported back on Stobo. It was a lovely relaxing day. I had a facial. Then a massage, a gorgeous lunch then reflexology. I struggled the last 10 minute drive home and was exhausted. Been trying to talk Dh into going for the day or maybe the night but he was a bit off with me after mentioning it. Oh well, I'll just take my girly friends or my mum again.

Spa Day

My mum and I are off to Stobo Castle today for a spa day. For £81.75 we get 2 treatments worth £82 and then full use of the facilities as well as a 3 course lunch. We went here for my birthday so very happy to be going back and having some chill out time.

It's bound to help me relax over the fact that Murray has been split from his friendship group in the new classes for Primary 2. They're going from 3 classes of 20 to 2 classes of 30 and have put Murray will mostly girls out of his current class!!! He's not bothered though.

My 30th Birthday Present to myself was a trip to Stobo Castle in Peebles. I went with my good Friends Caroline and Lorraine, then my mum and mum in law and my Sister in Law came along too.



Caroline picked us up from my house and with the help of the Tom Tom we arrived at Stobo and got parked. In we went and were greeted in reception by a lovely lady who took us through to the Spa Courtyard where Mum in law and Sister in Law were. We descended on the coffee shop and had a lovely lunch. Then we got our rooms and had a nose at everyone else's room and then headed to get changed before hitting the spa. Caroline and I were the only ones not to have a treatment booked so we hit the spa and the pool before heading for a rest. We had a lovely rest before preparing for our lovely 3 course dinner.


After dinner we had coffee in the dining room before being surprised with a birthday cake. So even though we were stuffed so we managed to find room before retiring to mine and Caroline's room for champagne.

After a good sleep, we head down for an early swim and steam and meet my mum. After that we met at Breakfast for another loaded breakfast. After that I went for an eyebrow shape. Was a bit shocked to find it was no wax but plucking. Nice job made of them though and it resulted in me wanting a facial. Which I managed to book for before lunch as a last minute thing.

After alot of relaxing again I ended up having my facial and then having another 3 course lunch, we had a short rest in the drawing room before heading home.

It was a lovely way to celebrate my 30th birthday and just what I would have wanted to do for it without it being over the top. Caroline has to take a lot of credit for some fantastic surprises and how nice she helped my weekend go.

Its definitely a birthday I shall always remember.

Stobo Castle

I'm off to Stobo Castle for the weekend. It's my birthday on Monday so a girlie weekend with 5 others to Stobo is just what we need. It's been a hectic few weeks and I am ready for a relax in the spa and some nice girlie time with the girls. I'll miss Eilidh and Murray but am so excited at my free time for 24 hours.

My Birthday

In December I'm going to reach the big 3 0. So a couple of people had mentioned we should have a spa time away. So we are. I've booked Stobo Castle in Peebles. So far 4 of us are definites and 1 wants to come but needs to book. Very excited about it all. It's only for one night but it will be fantastic and be lovely for the 24 hours we are there.
