Yesterday my leg above the knee started to hurt. By last night dh reckoned it had swelled up. Moving, walking, going up and downstairs hurts, so decided to go to the GP today.
Got a nice GP who measured my legs and decided that I needed to be seen at the hospital. He suspected a blood clot.
So got dh to collect me and take me to the Western General and go to the ARU. The unit was chockablok. I arrived at 3pm and was seen after that and at 4pm was told to go away for an hour. I had bloods done and thorough examinations. It was then concluded I have somehow pulled my hamstring.
I felt like a complete fraud as there were other people who were in more of need of help and attention that I was. But I suppose, better safe than sorry. The waiting area was a corridor and was very boring, no noticeboards to read and very few seats due to spaces for all the wheelchairs which a lot of the other patients were in. So thankfully no blood clots and no treatments needed. Just rest and pain killers.
