Interview Update

Well I really didn't know how the interview went last week. I felt positive that I had done well. But at the same time I really struggled on the blow your own trumpet question. I really will have to work on that for any next time.

So a week had passed and people were asking how I was doing. So this morning I was delighted to open the door and discover a huge brown envelope from the council saying that I had been recommended to go on to the next stage of the recruitment process. They have sent off my forms for the police checks and references. So fingers crossed that those are satisfactory and I get the formal offer of the job.

I'm absolutely delighted as it is meant to be in my opinion. Scary stuff, the thought of going to work, but must speak to my childminder to let her know that I will be requiring her very soon.

EEEK.......

I applied for a job about 4 weeks ago. So the shock when yesterday a letter popped through the letter box. It was inviting me to an interview next Friday. EEEK thought me, what will I wear? Everything that was really dressy is no longer dressy as it's all a size 18/20. So been out and got a new outfit which looks very grown up in a size 12. It's very grown up. No one will recognise me. Wish me luck for next week as I am panicking.

It can't be as bad as the time when I was 16 and my mum sent me for an interview

Interviewer: Well Louise, could you tell me why you want this job?
ME: I don't want it, I only came cos my mum made me.

Needless to say I never got the job.

I'll report back on how it goes next week. I'll be in the loo between now and then as when I get nervous I need the loo.

The Before and after Pictures

Thought I would post some pictures to show what the difference is. I'm amazed at the difference myself.

This is me in Sept 05

This was the picture which changed my life.
I know which one I prefer.

Wedding

Went to our friends wedding last night. After decided to pinch my friends Purple dress, I ended up buying a brand new outfit lol. I can't believe how slim I look in it. Absolutely skint just now as well but in desperate need of new clothes. I reckon I'll be chatting up my flexible friend lol. Had a fabby night and had a lot to drink that I told my Sister in Law I needed to stop talking as my mouth and brain couldn't engage each other. Got a sore back however just now so didn't get a great nights sleep. But the Corn exchange is a fab place for a wedding. Definitely expensive though. But a great night all round and Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Ross.

I'm a size 12

What cha think of my size 12 look? Pinched the dress of a friend as I couldn't find anything that I liked in the shops for a wedding. I can't get over how slim I look now. I will wear black underwear underneath when I go to the wedding mind. It doesn't even show my flabby tummy lol. Maybe it is time to go to the Gym?

Well things are settling down into a routine here. Eilidh is settled at school although the homework was a bit heavy to start with it seems to have calmed down a bit now. Murray enjoys playing in the playground although he's collided with a few P7's who don't seem to notice him with being so small.
Murray started back at Jo Jingles and wasn't too impressed but got into 40 minutes in to the class with only 5 minutes to go. His Best Mate Harry loved it. So we'll see how they get on. I think it is a case of Murray just needs time to settle in while Eilidh loves all these things.
Back to all the dance classes too. So we seem to be back in to normality. Not sure how things will go with me returning to work soon and the kids going to the childminder but I am sure it will all come together.
M*Y B*I*G N*E*W*S
I'm fitting into a size 12. How cool is that? I've gone from a size 20 at Christmas to a size 12 in Septemeber. Feeling very proud of myself so hopefully it will all stay off and I will get some new clothes for my birthday and Christmas.

Woman of the Year

This is me now size 14. I know not attractive

This was the picture which changed my life

I went to my Slimming World class for my weigh in tonight. Tonight we were being told about Woman of the year and we all had to vote for someone in the class. I was shocked to find I had 11 votes making me the winner. So in 7 months I have lost 2 stone 4 and a half pounds. I couldn't believe it. I never in a million years thought I could achieve something like this? Feeling very stunned at the moment yet very proud of myself too. It took me 5 years to look like that and 5 years on I know look vaguely like I was before.

THE BIG DAY ARRIVES

The Big day finally arrived. Eilidh woke us up at 5am and got sent back to bed. At 6.30am she got up again and asked to get dressed but she had to wait on havingher brekkie to keep her uniform clean as this is Eilidh we are talking about.

This is Eilidh, Mummy and Murray waiting in the playground

This is Murray who was feeling rather left out and enjoyed a brekkie at Tesco instead.

This is the first photo taken on the driveway before we left to go to school.

This is the full uniform with Blazer too This is Eilidh and Murray with Daddy at the school waiting on the doors opening.

We arrived at the school at 9.20am. We spoke to other mum and dad and most of the children seemed very excited to see each other again. At 9.30am the doors opened and we all went inside. We found Eilidh's peg which was number 4 along as she is number 4 on the register. Then we headed along to the class and we handed in Eilidh's homework and then had a family photograph taken. We then handed Eilidh over to her teacher Mrs Kerr-Peterson.

We collected Eilidh at 11.30am. I joked to 2 other mums that they would be in Alphabetical order and guess what, they were. We took her into see Granny Carlisle at work and then went for lunch. Daddy is now away back to work and it seems strange that my baby is now a SCHOOLGIRL. She can't wait to go back tomorrow.

The biggest laugh we got was Eilidh "There's no home work today but we will get homework on Monday!" She was very keen to tell us that. Here's to the next 11-13 years off school life eh? Though Mummy and daddy had a fight as mummy wanted to cry and daddy told her not too. Mummy thinks daddy doesn't have a heart.

The Day before

This is her in her yellow dress

Tomorrow is a very big day. Eilidh starts school. We're off for the school haircut this morning and then on to school to collect the last of her school uniform. Then this afternoon Auntie Caca is taking her to the flower fairies in the book festival.

I just can't believe that at 5 and a half she is off to school. She is so ready yet she is still my baby. Her uniform for tomorrow is all hung up in the wardrobe for tomorrow.
Suppose I should get ready and head off. Lots of walking today. Lost 1.5lb's yesterday at my weigh in so now a grand total of 2st 4lb's weight loss. Not long to my 2 and a half stone and to my target which is a loss of 8lb's which I hope to make by Murray's birthday in October.

Hectic Life

Life is a bit hectic here just now. Eilidh starts school on the 17th and I think we are finally organised bar a lunch box. But she doesn't need that until Sept.

Murray announced that he was ditching the nappies and is now fully potty trained. He was dry after 3 days. But last week developed chicken pox so we've been housebound again lol.

The summer seems to have passed me by and I have no idea where it has gone. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

We had a fab holiday in Salou. One of Eilidh's friends from her first year at nursery were there too, so we hit the park a few times with them and experienced a new way of Port Adventura lol.
