I didn't expect him to be so grown up

2nd of November 2002
9th August 2007
We tried Murray's school uniform on today. He's grown during the last 6 weeks, he's taller as the trousers were horrendously long but he's shrunk round the waist. I can't believe that it was almost 5 years ago since I gave birth to Murray. Some days have been a hard slog and we've had some horrendous moments but do you know what, he's such a placid, shy but funny wee chap. He's usually happy (well when his sister isn't winding him up!) but he can be so funny at times having me and his dad in fits of the giggles. It will be a hard day next Friday when our baby becomes a fully fledged school boy!

End of an Era

Today was the last ever day I took Murray to nursery. For the last 4 years I have dropped one of my children off to the nursery. Eilidh started on the 27th of August 2003 and we've been there ever since. We've seen lots of different staff while retaining the same teacher the whole time. Murray's even had a morning of Mummy being a member of staff.

I have to be truthful, I wasn't that upset. I was more upset that we would be saying goodbye to some parents as they are off to different schools. One mum got really upset which made me have to walk out as I know I would have been hysterical.

It feels strange that on the 17th of August I will take Murray to the P1 door and drop him off to Mrs Nicholson. He's moving in to B1 and he is getting Mrs Nicholson who has been Eilidh's teacher during P2. Eilidh's moving from B4 to B6. So my children will be in the same corridor at different ends of the corridor. She is getting Mrs Ho after the summer for Primary 3.

So what will happen to mummy come September the 18th when Murray goes fulltime at school? Who knows. I have heard of a couple of jobs where they require am or a couple of days as a Nursery Nurse. But I am off the opinion that whatever route I am meant to take will come to light towards the end of the summer.

Anyway....... This time next week we will hopefully be checking into our hotel whoooooooooooo. Anything to get away from the rain of this place. It's driving me MAAAAAADDDDDD.

ONLY 10 MORE DAYS!!!!!

We are just so excited here. We keep packing and repacking. Really need to get a life lol. 3 more nursery sessions for Murray. 3 and a half days for Eilidh and we are on School holidays. We honestly can't wait. It's just hit that stage that we are all burned out and in need of some family only time.

My mum and dad are currently on holiday in The south of France, so we have "Jazzy" their honda jazz. The kids love it. Can we go in Grandad's car is what we keep hearing. It's a nifty wee number and I'm practing the Automatic for driving in America.

Murray starts school on the 17th of August. It will be a strange day that day. He seems so little. He also has new specs. Which he just loves.

Eilidh is getting specs too. Bright pink ones.

Not much else to say though.

It's been a mix match week

It's been a strange week. I've just been sat here reflecting on the the past week. It's been one full of emotions.

Last Wednesday, we had the recall to Murray's bloods. He's still showing at dehydrated. Sadly because of the distressed state he was in at the surgery we couldn't get any more blood out of him.

Thursday seemed to be a day of rushing. Murray had 2 parties back to back. Was exhausting but managed well to get everything done and even managed to take Eilidh shopping for the holiday clothes lol.

Friday was a quiet morning followed by a hopsital visit. Someone was leaving so we got held up. But great news that Murray's squint is really improving. So we are down to 1 hour on the patch. Also got a phone call for work.

Saturday was stressful. D's mum decided to book a family photograph but erm.....don't book it for 45 minutes after Eilidh's blinking dance class. It was one big rush to get from Stockbridge to Loanhead and there were roadworks EVERYWHERE Every turn we took saw more roadworks. Then I felt it was a completely tense atmosphere. Couldn't wait to get out of there. My poor kids were starving too. So we hit sainsbury's for lunch. We then chilled out for the afternoon before a trip to Luca's for ice cream....mmmmmm. It was fab.

Sunday was an over wrought day in this house. Probably best to forget it ever happened.

So after 2 days off school, we are back to normal tonight and I am back to work tomorrow in a nice wee nursery to ease me back in gently. My acupuncture really worked and relieved a lot of the pain and my back is improving. Have had manipulation done too to really help.

So here's to being on the up at long last

Physio

Been to physio twice now. I've got a disc which is irrating me and I am to have acupuncture to see if that will relieve the pain. So going next Monday to get the needles stuck in my back. Fingers crossed that I should be ok for the holiday and have lost 5lbs over 2 weeks so delighted in that way.

Murray

Apparently we should have been at the hospital with Murray this week. Shame no one thought to tell us as they apparently sent the letter in October and we never received it. So he's been recalled for bloods due to problems with his previous 2 bloods showing up a raised level of something. My head is currently one big jumble as to what is going on with my little boy and the fact that I'm going to put him through the traumatic art of blood taking. I am hoping the GP is better than the nurse in the hospital who has broken his heart twice and hurt his little veins. I feel pulled in so many ways as he looks perfect and is such a fantastic wee boy. He truly is a special wee boy. But why are we going through all this??? What did we do wrong for Murray to end up with so many problems?? It just seems never ending. So please send us big hugs for 16th May at 9.20am.
