Babies

No I'm not having another one. But the girl I am covering at work has had a baby girl. One of the mum's at work had a baby girl and I know about 6 people who are expecting babies right now. Some of my friends from school are expecting and it's made me feel like I did everything too early. I don't in one bit regret my children but I often think I am ready for children now in my 30's compared to my 20's.

I just keep looking at these wee babbies and thinking awwww I want one. But then I remember sleepless nights and early mornings. I also remember the kitchen sink I had to take to go out a short trip.

6 years ago I had a huge bump. Now I have an almost 6 year old. Thinking back to them both as babies, I realise that was the easiest part. It's WW3 here in the mornings.

Child Free Night

We had a child free night last night and I thank my parents for allowing us to have a night together. Nipped to the cinema in the afternoon to see The Women. Kids went to the Bank Of Scotland Museum and Grandad's work to see his room at the Sherrif Court. He tried to get them banged up but wasn't successful.

We were in bed asleep by 9.30pm. My Nannies Diaries film was watched this afternoon. Managed to get all the food shopping done and we nipped to Dunfermline for a visit to Primark and also lunch at Buffet King which we only discovered today and was lovely. The kids loved it.

Both kids got out on their bikes this afternoon. We have ordered Murray a new one for his birthday. He is currently on a 12 inch with an odd handle bar but it was a freebie from Freecycle and when his new one arrives on his birthday we shall freecycle it then. Hopefully another child will be able to learn to ride on it.

Cannot believe that in just 4 and a half weeks my baby boy will be 6. It doesn't seem that long ago that he was growing inside me. It's been a roller coaster being a parent to Murray. So many emotions good and bad. But I wouldn't be without him.

Back to the grindstone tomorrow for work. Dh will be staying at home to take the kids to school. That will be fun ;-) I am glad I will be at work.

It's not Just Food...... It's M&S Food

Not blogged for a while. Things have been hectic here. I ended up ill after our trip to Beamish with a urine infection. Continued to work though. Then last Monday I turned up to the childminders to find out she had been rushed to hospital. She needs her gall bladder removed and hopefully the operation went smoothly. This week we've been left without a childminder so David will go to work late while my dad collects them and brings them home. I also have a stinking cold and sore back from work too.

So... we're waiting on our M&S dine for 2 for £10 is cooking, the kids are at my mum and dad's and David is watching See no Evil, Hear no Evil. X factor Boot Camp should be on soon. Then maybe I can watch one of my new DVD's.

My 300th Post

I've just realised this is my 300th post on my blog.

We're safely instilled in Washington. We've been to the metro centre where we had dinner at the Buffet King which was very nice. As we drove down the A1, the Angel of the North appeared to our right and by the time we got closer, she was on the left handside. The hotel was on our right and swapped to our left. Is the road winding or is it an illusion.

The Angel of the North is one of those items you hear about but when you reach it, it is a very moving work of art to look at. There's just something about her which moves you and makes our car fall silent.

Anyway, off to Beamish tomorrow. My mum and dad are in Durham, so we'll meet them tomorrow. Here's hoping E and M settle early.

Weekend Away

We're going to the North East tomorrow. Heading to the Metro Centre tomorrow afternoon, then onto Washington to the Express by Holiday Inn. Then Sunday we're off to Beamish. My mum and dad are in Durham so we're meeting up there.

Sunday

It's Sunday morning and my morning to be up early! Been up since 5.40am but had a nice erm wake up.

Gave up trying to get back to sleep and both kids got up at 8am and Murray is on the blinking wii again on Mario Kart.

I keep wondering why I need to waken so early. I feel so tired now and yesterday afternoon I slept from 1.30-5.30pm and still was in bed by 10pm. But maybe I only need around 7 hours sleep then.

Got plans to make soup for the freezer today. But am meeting my parents at Ikea so may just do brekkie there. And will maybe just do a sainsbury's shop instead of tesco.

Must get Murray off the wii first though.

The Week Blends into itself

I can't believe where the week has gone. I've done 4 days at work. Only one day seemed to be a bit of a hair raising time but things did calm down. Still waiting on the Care Commission to turn up.

Monday night I had free tickets to The Duchess. A lovely film and well worth a visit. Tuesday I seemed to rush about non stop after school and never made it to PTA as David hadn't come home in time. Wednesday I had a pedicure and I really enjoyed having some me time. Thursday was the school BBQ. The weather was lovely but it seemed very quiet compared to previous years.

Friday was coffee with the mums from school. But it was ruined by a bit of a situation by 2 mums who decided that their latest target was one of my friends. Their behaviour was appauling and I truly hope they are ashamed of themselves and the fact that everyone was made aware of what they really are.

Got work this week and we have booked to go back to Beamish next weekend so a long weekend away for the September weekend.

I've got a new toy

I announced to dh this morning that we needed a new hand blender as my old one started to go last year. So i threw it out. So decided while in tesco to look for new ones as I wanted to make soup and got this bargain one for £10.

Over the years at work I have used a variety of blenders due to my work and having to make soup but this is the first one I have ever got the knack off. It blended my chunkey soup in seconds.

It also came with a mini food chopper and a whisk and a couple of containers for blending but my soup was done in the jug as it was the only thing big enough to hold the 3pints of soup I'd made.

So here's to a long and happy blending relationship.

Busy since Friday

On Friday I picked the kids up from school. Then we came home and had big tantrums over lunch. After we all calmed down we hit the library to exchange books and then went swimming and headed to Ratho Park (a carvery) for dinner. After dinner we did the food shop so we were out of the house for around 4 hours which was good.

Yesterday Murray wakened me at 6.30am. Dh took them both to the dance school. Then Murray and Eilidh came with me to the cinema to see Wild Child. I didn't realise it was a 12a and erm some of the language wasn't that suitable.

Dh lost his round at bowling. He's done well getting to the semi final. Then we had dinner out at the Peach Garden as it was late.

Today we have to tidy the house, get everything sorted for me working a 4 day week and see dh's dad as it was his birthday yesterday. But here's to another working week.

First Week Over

My first week at work is over. It's been a tiring week but I've enjoyed it. There are very few children just now as we build up numbers but they are a sweet bunch with a range of characters.

Have enjoyed my week and 4 days hasn't been too bad. Will just need to learn how to manage my time better. Have decided to take a step back from the PTA for the time being. Need to make home life more of a priority now I am working more.

All in all a good week.
